Teaching Thankfulness

Teaching children an attitude of gratitude requires helping them to look at their situations from a point of appreciation rather than lack. If they are not taught to appreciate what they have, they will never be satisfied, always wanting more.

Here are ways to help:

Say please and thank you. Help someone less fortunate.      Volunteer.  Send thank you notes.  Look for moments in the day to be thankful for.  Share gratitude at the end of the day.  Compliment others.  Write letters of thanks.  Give someone a gift anonymously.  Look for the positive.  Be generous and teach generosity.  Teach by example.
